Yes. There's no daily cap on bills or payments, no premium tier, no ads and no hidden fees. Receipt scanning is free. To stop abuse, each network gets a generous number of scans a day, and if scanning ever pauses you can type the items in.

Terry built tidytab and pays for the receipt scanning himself. Hosts can leave an optional tip to help with that cost, and guests are never asked for one. There are no ads, and we don’t sell your data.

No. You share a link and they open it in any browser. No downloads, no sign-ups, no accounts.

tidytab works out each person’s share, then hands it to the payment app they already use. Venmo and PayPal open with the amount filled in, and so does Cash App on a phone that has it installed. Zelle and bank transfers have no payment link, so tidytab gives them the recipient and the amount to copy. Revolut and Wise open on your profile, with the amount ready to copy. We never touch your money. Payments go directly between you and your friends.

We store the minimum needed to make bill splitting work: item names, amounts, and the name you enter. No passwords, no payment credentials. We do use analytics to see which parts of the app get used. On our privacy page you can opt out of analytics cookies and session replay.

The bill page shows who has paid and how much is still outstanding, and it updates as payments come in. If a bill stalls, we email you - the host - a summary of where it stands, so you can nudge the group yourself.

Absolutely. Use "Pick dishes" mode to let everyone claim exactly what they ordered, or "Custom amount" for manual splits. Tax and tip are distributed proportionally.
