tidytab is a free tool that helps groups split bills. By using tidytab, you agree to these terms. They’re short, plain English, and designed to be fair.
What tidytab Does
tidytab helps you photograph a receipt, split the total among friends, and share a payment link. We generate links to payment apps like Venmo, Zelle, CashApp, and PayPal so your friends can pay you directly.
tidytab is not a payment processor.
We don’t handle, hold, or transfer any money. Payments happen entirely between you and your friends through third-party payment apps. We have no visibility into whether a payment was actually completed.
Honor System
tidytab operates on trust. When someone marks a contribution as paid, we take their word for it. We cannot verify, guarantee, or reverse any payments. Disputes about payments are between the people involved — we can’t mediate them.
Your Responsibilities
- •Provide accurate information (names, amounts, payment handles)
- •Only upload receipts for bills you’re actually splitting
- •Don’t use tidytab to harass, spam, or defraud anyone
- •Keep your bill management links private — anyone with the link can edit your bill
AI Receipt Scanning
Our AI does its best to read your receipt accurately, but it’s not perfect. Always review the extracted items and totals before sharing your bill. We’re not responsible for errors in AI-generated data — you’re responsible for verifying the final bill is correct.
Your Content
You own the information you provide (names, receipts, notes). By uploading content to tidytab, you give us permission to store and display it as part of the service — for example, showing your receipt image on the bill page or including your name in a contribution notification email.
Availability & Changes
tidytab is provided free of charge, as-is. We do our best to keep it running and reliable, but we can’t guarantee 100% uptime. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of Liability
tidytab is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to payment disputes, incorrect bill calculations, or service interruptions.
Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use tidytab.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of tidytab after changes means you accept the updated terms.
