Delete your account
No hard feelings, and no runaround. Here’s exactly what happens before you decide. Deleting is permanent - we can’t undo it, and there’s no waiting period to change your mind.
What we delete
- •Your sign-in - the account itself, so the magic link stops working.
- •Bills you started but never published, along with their items and shares.
- •Your profile: display name and every saved payment handle - Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, Zelle, Revolut, Wise, and bank details.
- •Your badges and any push-notification registration for your devices.
- •Your name and email on every bill you hosted and in every group you joined.
What stays, without your name
Splitting a bill is a shared record. If we erased your side of one, everyone else’s numbers would quietly break. So the money stays and the person leaves: anywhere your name appeared on someone else’s bill or balance, it becomes “Deleted user”.
- •Bills you hosted that other people have already used - they stay live, listed as "Deleted user".
- •Contributions and settlements in your groups - the amounts stay so nobody else's balance shifts, but your name becomes "Deleted user".
- •Your spot in each group ledger, unnamed, so the maths still adds up for everyone else.
Nothing left behind can be traced back to you: your email, your payment handles, and your account link are all cleared at the same time. Groups you created keep running, but they lose their admin - nobody inherits the role, so hand it over first if the group still needs one.
